I can’t say enough about the benefits Valor and Honor provides for participants. I went into the experience simply expecting some relaxing time in the woods, but got so much more. By the time we left, I had recharged mentally and spiritually and had a completely new support system with friendships that I’m sure will last a lifetime. Thanks so much to Valor and Honor for the work they do to help us recharge, heal, and be better!

I cannot even begin to express how amazing Valor & Honor Outdoors has been. My first experience with VHO was a few months prior to my deployment to the Middle East. My 2 children 4 and 5 at the time absolutely loved fishing. We spent the entire day on the boat with one of VHO’s volunteers. The smiles on their faces reeling in big catches would make any one hearts melt. It was a day of beautiful views, great fishing and lots of laughters. Mr. Jamie was so incredibly, giving my two children the best and most memorable time on the water. The kid’s still talk about that day. It was a perfect way to spend some family time outdoors prior to me being gone for 6 months.
Our 2nd experience with VHO was when they gifted myself and my children an overnight trip to our local water park. My children and I had the roughest year of our lives starting the day after I returned from deployment. VHO brought tears to my eyes when they surprised us with our trip. My children and I made many core memories and had the best time getting away from the difficult year we had faced.
VHO is an amazing organization for past and present military. They are selfless, supportive and go the extra mile with every single experience they have to offer. I have never known another organization to make us military members feel loved, important, thought of and welcomed. VHO will always hold a special place in my heart.

Rather than send men and women into the fire … I get to thank them for their brotherhood and witness to them … to save them from the fire

Valor and Honor Outdoors is not only a group of veterans putting on great opportunities but an atmosphere of high morals and mentorship. Attending the Valor and Honor turkey hunt was an opportunity that I will never forget. During my experience I spent time hunting, having communion, and telling stories about experiences in the military. It is a professionally run organization with the highest level military personnel and others with no military service. Some of the guides are looking to give back to there community in an area they are professionals at. I would recommend VHO to anyone and I’m glad I got the experience I did. Looking forward to my next trip to VHO.

Valor and Honor is an amazing organization with such wonderful people fueling it.
My husband and I are both AGR and often times high five out the door on TDYs. Although we absolutely love our jobs and serving it does take a toll on our family. My husband had just gotten home from Iraq and I was getting ready to leave for a 6/7 month deployment. I felt guilty at first accepting a trip from VHO as I feel our family is blessed, we both have good jobs, pay our bills etc… the one thing we don’t do is slow down. VHO made us slow down and sent our family to the coast of NC where we were able to see bears in the wild. We also spent a day with a local family on their boat tubing. To this day these ar we some of the best memories my kids have with us. It brings tears to my eyes writing this because it was so nice going on this trip and not worrying how it would be paid for. We didn’t think about work, bills, or anything other than just spending time with our kids. Thank you VHO for everything you do and the lives you touch!

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity yo participate in VHO duck hunts in Arkansas the last two years. The trips, though different, left me a better man than I came with a heart full of brotherhood and shared service. From the DIY nature of the hunt, to the logistical planning leading up to the first day, the food, lodging, equipment, hosts, and everything about these hunts reminded me of the best parts of service. The relaxing fellowship we were able to experience in the woods hunting, on the couch in the cabin, or in cars together is the kind of cathartic salve we Veterans and active Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines need to help remind us why we serve.
Our hosts (Veteran Family) understand us, and make it comfortable in the right sense of the word. They don’t baby us, assume anything, or expect anything in return.
As for our VHO Leadership, having Ty and Seth on the ground with us leading out in preparation, encouraging teamwork and togetherness, and making everyone feel included- reminded me of the servant leaders we craved in service.
I 100% recommend VHO for others like us looking for a connecting experience and some dirt road time to wash off the politics, media, stress and business of life.
I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to being able to contribute however I can in the future.
